FEATURED ARTIST DECEMBER 2017

I am a full-time artist retired from the State of Texas after 27 years (13 years with the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and 14 years with the Texas Historical Commission). I have been weaving baskets since 1987 and creating gourd art since 2008. I have been teaching basket weaving since 1991, have been judge, juror, and featured artist for shows and show publications and have won numerous awards in both areas of baskets and gourd art (see a complete list of recent awards on my website). In 2015, I was fortunate to be a reviewer for the Texas Commission on the Arts for new official Texas Cultural Districts. I am current President of the Central Texas Basket Weavers Guild and have served as Board Member of the Texas Basket Weavers Association and am a charter member of both organizations.
